At the beginning of a new year, many people make resolutions to be more active in their community. Disney Parks has a new promotion where if you volunteer for 8 hours to a number of pre-registered programs, Disney will give you a free ticket. There are a number of opportunities to select from and you can get your children involved. There are some charities that will allow children as young as 6 to participate in activities. I’ve already signed my family up to make Binkies for Babies (fleece blankets). Check out the link below and make sure to get involved in your community now!

This is a first post on the family corner made on September 11, 2009.  Today is the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C., and in the skies over Pennsylvania.  Please take a moment today to reflect on the tragedy of that day, and to pray for the peace and comfort of the affected families and nation.
