  • Bible Dudes
    This site is very entertaining, and at the same time extremely educational.  You can read about Bible translations and Biblical studies, and even take a quiz.  Colorful amusing cartoon characters explain the material on the site. 

    Bible Verses
    This site offers Bible searches by topic, word search, or Biblical passage, in the Bible version of your choice.  You can request new Bible verses and/or topics to be added.  The search screens are very clear and easy to understand and use.

    Bible Gateway
    The Bible Gateway is a tool for reading and researching scripture online, in the language or translation that you choose.   A 'Preferences' screen allows you to set the version, language, and font size.  The site also features several different Bible reading plans to help you read through the Bible.

    Blue Letter Bible
    Here you can search for words or phrases in the Bible and locate associated audio visual materials, the Hebrew and Greek versions of the scriptures, maps, and images.   Available study tools include charts and timelines, as well as commentaries in audio and video.

    Codex Sinaiticus
    Experience the worlds oldest bible. Handwritten over 1600 years ago, the Codex Sinaiticus is one of the most important books in the world. The manuscript contains the Christian Bible in Greek, including the oldest complete copy of the New Testament.

    Common English Bible
    This is a new translation of the Bible in common language that all can understand. Scholars from 22 faith traditions participated in the translation. You can look up a favorite scripture on this site and see how it reads in this translation. There is a blog, and you can sign up for a newsletter.

    Early Christian Writings
    This site contains documents from the first two centuries.  Translations and commentaries are included, as well as the approximate dates of the writings. The writings can be listed chronologically or alphabetically for easy searching.  The site also includes links to additional online resources, and lists of offline resources.   
     
    Lectionary.org
    This site is designed to bring together resources to help pastors write sermons.  Sermons, hymns, and scriptures are available by subscription.  The site also includes links to other sites with sermons and lectionary resources.

    Oremus Bible Browser
    Enter a Bible reference, select the version of the Bible that you want, and this site will show you the Bible passage.  You can even save your queries as a quicklink and then go back and reference them.

    The Text This Week
    Lectionary, Scripture study, and worship links and resources. This site is a treasure trove of links to other sites with historical references, articles, and even descriptions of movie scenes that illustrate the themes in the scriptures!    Scriptures are listed by various lectionaries:  the Revised Common Lectionary, Roman, Episcopal, Lutheran, and United Methodist.

    University of Toronto - Synoptic Parallels
    This site shows the four gospels in a parallel format. All four fit on the screen, so this is a handy reference tool to compare the gospels. Each gospel has a separate scroll bar.
